16 March 2011 The warm sunny days and rain have taken their toll on the trails. Bare spots are appearing with great alarm. Marginal conditions exist at this time. In a few more days I would not recommend riding. 10 March 2011 NOTE: The spur G.I. 8 to Coon Point is closed for the rest of the season. 10 March 2011 Due to standing water in low lying areas of the northern section of our trail system the trails in that area will not be groomed until colder weather sets it up. 9 March 2011 The south groomer made a run today From G.I.1 south is groomed and offers some of the best riding yet this year. The northern half will be groomed soon . Stay tuned for updates. 7 March 2011 Well it finally happened We have SNOW!!! Too much snow in fact! A conservative estimate would be 2 to 3 feet. THATS right FEET!! I tried to take a sled out to pack the trails some and got stuck in my yard and it is still snowing and blowing. Until it stops and we get some traffic out on the trails to pack it we will have to hold off on grooming. STAY TUNED for further details.. Trail conditions will be updated after the next groomer run. 05 March 2011 The south section of our system needed grooming due usage. Trails were groomed on 3 March and were in excellent riding condition. As of tonight the rain has come and the trails are soft. We are hoping that the forecast storm on Sunday night will give us something new to work with. Hopefully this will bring our conditions back to 'excellent". We will be out grooming as soon as we get new snow. 25 Feb. 2011 The trails were groomed and are in excellent condition . Just in time for the club ride planned for 26 Feb. 19 Feb 2011 The trails were groomed on 15 Feb and were in excellent shape. Then the rain and warm weather came .. A ride on the trails today showed conditions have degraded. Icy trails and water spots have appeared. All we can hope for is some cold weather and another snow storm. Stay tuned for updates. 12 Feb 2011 Our trails were groomed again we are having a hard job keeping up with the blowing and drifting snow. Another run is planned for the first of the week. 9 Feb 2011 The trails were groomed again a report from one of the groomer operators is the need to be rode so come on out and ride out trails. We are looking at another run before the weekend. 4 Feb 2011 The trails are groomed and there is plenty of snow GREAT riding 8 Jan 2010 Trails were reported fair by a rider, some of the fields where it is normally wind swept are a little rough. 5 Jan 2010 FLASH!!!! THE TRAILS ARE READY TO RIDE!!!! We had a nice snow storm. Finally enough on the ground to groom. Dave started out on the northern end and had to turn around and limp home with a broken groomer. Joe did the south end and was finishing up the northern end last night when a huge ditch jumped out in front of him. After getting the groomer out this morning with Blair's Back hoe ALL Alburg trails are well groomed and setting up nicely. Look for some super riding in Alburg. Bear in mind we are down to one grooming unit until parts come in and we can get the other up and running! LATEST REPORTS ON THE CONDITIONS OF THE TRAILS ARE AS OF 29 DEC 2009. We were on our way the temps had dropped and all areas were putting down a good a layer of frost. We had a few storms to give us a base coat, and were waiting for that first storm to make our first grooming runs. Today that storm came in the form of RAIN. Back to square ONE! Stay tuned for further info! 28 DEC. 2009 4 Inches of snow fell today and we are thinking this next storm, due in this weekend will put us in business. |
